ANNIE TYRCHNIEWICZ Annie Tyrchniewicz passed away after a brief illness on December 11, 2005, in St. Boniface General Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents Alexander and Maria Fandych; her husband Joe; her brothers, John, Mike and Bill; and her sisters, Margaret, Bernice, Sadie and Helen. She is survived by her sons, Ed (Peggy) and Lawrence (Maryann); her grandsons, Allen (Barb), David (Carol), Richard and Mike (Sarah); great-grandchildren, Christine, Jessica, Paul, Steven and Matthew; her brother Stan Fandych; and her sister Tina Harrack; and numerous nieces and nephews. Annie was born in Allegra, MB, on December 14, 1916, and lived on the family farm until she married Joe in 1938. After three years in a bush camp in southeastern Manitoba, they moved to a farm in Prairie Grove. She and Joe retired to a small farm in Grande Pointe in 1964 where they lived happily till 1985 when Joe was hospitalized. Annie lived on the farm by herself until September 2005 when she moved to Catherine Place in St. Boniface. Annie, or Grannie, as she was known to many people, was a fiercely independent woman who was very hospitable, sharing her cooking and produce from her large garden. She was always ready for a party or an outing, especially if it included her grandsons and great-grandchildren. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the caring staff on Ward 5E at St. Boniface Hospital, and the pastoral care from Father Roland Lanoie. A celebration of Annie's life will be held on Thursday, December 15 at St. Andrew Bobola Roman Catholic Church, 541 Marion St., with viewing at 10:00 a.m., funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. and interment at Green Acres Cemetery, Hwy.#1 E. at Navin Rd. A reception will follow at Green Acres Funeral Home in the Heritage Room. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Christmas Cheer Board of Greater Winnipeg, ph: 669-5369, or to a charity of choice. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery Hwy. #1 E. at Navin, (204) 222-3241
