STELLA CHARLEWOOD (JONES) -
Date of Passing: Dec 03, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTELLA CHARLEWOOD (nee JONES) 1915 - 2005 Stella passed away peacefully at the age of 90, in the early morning of December 3, 2005 at the Kiwanis Care Centre in North Vancouver. Stella was predeceased by her husband Eric (1987) and son Richard (2003). She was the last of her siblings. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Pat (Bill), Barb (Dale), Paul (Sherill) and Gina (Mark) and by her 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mom was a remarkable spirited woman who loved her family dearly. She had a great sense of humour and a real gift for writing poetry. Mom was always up for a competitive game of cribbage, bingo or an outing to the casino. Even in her last days Mom was able to crack jokes with the care aides and nurses, recite her poetry and play crib. We will fondly remember Mom/Grandma whenever we get out the cribbage board. Stella grew up in Winnipeg, married Eric during the war, raised their family in St. Vital and retired to the Okanagan Valley. The family would like to thank the staff at the North Vancouver Kiwanis Centre for the wonderful care she received.
