STEPHANIE CHESLOCK Stephanie Cheslock (nee Churko) passed away December 9, 2005. Her service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 14 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Marc Whitehead officiating. Stephanie was born in Zhoda, MB, on August 31, 1918. She spent her childhood there, in Winnipeg and at Rossdale. In 1937, she married Michael, continuing to live in Rossdale until 1943 when they moved to Winnipeg. In 1949 they purchased a grocery store in the Elmwood District of the city where many friendships developed. They retired in 1969 to North Kildonan. Stephanie was predeceased by her husband Mike; parents Joseph and Sophie Churko; her brothers, Walter, Zig and Casimer; her sister Carrie Dahlberg; and her very dear friend Anne Weiss. Stephanie will be lovingly remembered by her brother Charlie (Anne); sister Rose (Barry) Leonard; her children, Jerry (Vi), Jane (Barry), Dennis, Andy (Carol); eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The memory of her joy of life will carry forward in the hearts of the many people she touched during her lifetime. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association. Many thanks to the staff of the River East Personal Care Home for their kind care.   • Ruth and I used to live at 758 McCalman Ave from 1955 to 60. We dealt at the store which was just across the street. Had many a nice chat with Stephie and Mike, and watched the kids grow up.
