Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAURENCE HENRY MOYER On Saturday, December 10, 2005, with his family at his side, Laurence passed away at Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg. Laurence was born March 5, 1919, in Warroad, MN, to Luther and Emma Moyer, and lived in Warroad until 1938. At the age of 19 he crossed the ice of Lake of the Woods, seeking employment in Kenora, ON. He worked in the lumber and fishing industry prior to joining the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941. He married his lifelong love, Marie Bellefeuille in 1942. At the end of the war they settled in Winnipeg where he worked in the construction industry for several decades. Laurence founded Moyer Construction in 1960 and achieved success through hard work and determination. Lake of the Woods was always Laurence's slice of heaven. Following his retirement he divided his time between Winnipeg and Kenora. He spent countless hours boating and fishing and shared his love of the outdoors with his family and many friends. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast and avid gardener. Laurence was an active member of Rotary International for over 30 years and enjoyed the company of his many friends at both the Assiniboia and Kenora clubs. He was an unforgettable character with a great sense of humour and outgoing personality. He will be sadly missed by his wife Marie; brother Louis of Warroad; his children, Laurie, Chris, Rick (Susan), Sheryl (John), Quentin (Linda) and Sheila (Norm); grandchildren, Michael, Rob (Kathryn), Richard, Beckie (Brett), Matt, Jason (Raquel), Jenn (Mark), Eric, Reid and Thomas; great-grandchildren, Ayden, Ellie, Maggie and Wylie; and many other relatives and friends. Laurence was predeceased by his parents; sister Karolyn; brothers Ed, Fred, Dick, Ernie and Michael. We would like to extend a special thanks to Scott Lockhart, Nancy, Al and Jody Smith, nephews Mike (Alma) and Steve (Verna) Bergmann and to the Marvin family for their special friendship and support. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Laurence's life will be held in the summer on Lake of the Woods at Kenora.
