Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRONALD BARKER It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Ron Barker, much loved husband, father and grandfather, peacefully on December 12, 2005. Ron was born in Winnipeg to Olive and Fred Barker on March 21, 1927. He was raised in old St. Boniface with his brothers Eric and Norman. In 1950 he married Marguerite St. Godard and began a career with Canada Packers that spanned almost 40 years, starting as an office boy and working his way up to Fresh Meat Plant Manager by his retirement in 1987. Ron was a member of Toastmasters in his younger years. He was an active volunteer for many years with Christ Church in River Heights and gave generously to many charities. He will be remembered by those who loved him for his sense of humour, his great devotion to his family and his love of cottage life. Ron leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 55 years, his children, Sharon (Carl), Marnie, Mark (Theresa) and Brian (Dana). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Katie, Drew, Mark, David, Daniel, Nicholas, Carla, Scott, Lauren, Garret and Eric. Ron is survived by his brother Norman (Peggy) and numerous nieces and nephews. Our family wishes to thank the staff of St. Boniface Hospital who cared so compassionately for Ron these past few weeks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Heart Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St. Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6. May the road rise up to meet you Dad. You will be in our hearts forever. A celebration of Ron's life will take place on Tuesday, December 20 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Timothy's Catholic Church, 135 John Forsyth Rd (St. Vital).
