MARGARET DELNORA EDWARDS (nee STANTON) January 8, 1925 - December 15, 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Margaret, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, December 15, 2005. Margaret was born in Edmonton, Alberta on January 8, 1925. She met Peter in Edmonton in 1947 and they were married in 1949. They were blessed with ten children. Peter's employment took them from Edmonton to Calgary and eventually Winnipeg in 1965 there they have lived ever since. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. For anyone who knew Margaret, they knew that her faith and her family were her most precious gifts. She was a source of strength for them all, and had her unique way of making everyone feel special. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband Peter; her children, Maureen Kuntz, Maryellen Edwards, Valerie Edwards (Philippe Mailhot), Jim Edwards, Kevin Edwards (Sandi Caputo), Barbara Bell, Mark Edwards (Suzan Hassan); her grandchildren, Michelle Edwards, Teresa Fingland (Sean), Scott Kuntz (Aynsley), Jacob (Sally MacDonald), Stephen and Matthew Bell, Paul, Danielle and Alyse Mailhot, Alixe Edwards and Kelly Edwards and many extended family members. Margaret will be joining in heaven her deceased children, twin daughters Margaret and Mary (1953) and son Michael (2003) along with her parents Frank and Anna Stanton and her brother James Stanton. Margaret graduated from Business School in Edmonton and worked for the Secretary's Department of the Alberta Government until her marriage. For many years she devoted herself to raising her family. After moving to Winnipeg, Margaret worked for almost 20 years in the Communication Department at the Misericordia Hospital. Margaret was a member of the Catholic Women's League as well as being an active member of the Darjeeling Mission Club. She and Peter were very involved parishioners at both St. Ignatius and St. John Brebeuf Roman Catholic Parishes. Margaret and Peter had an exciting time raising their children. In later years, they took advantage of retirement to travel and spent nine wonderful winters in Mesa, Arizona where they made lasting friendships. Margaret was blessed with a strong spirit along with a kind and loving soul. She used these gifts to touch the hearts of everyone with whom she came in contact. Margaret's unwavering faith was the light that guided her in life. Her faith blessed her with a sense of joy that carried her through great losses and allowed her to cherish each celebration large or small. Her family extends their deepest thanks to the staff at the Grace Hospital and the nurses from the WRHA Respiratory Home Care Program for the care she received over the past several years. Both Margaret and Peter sincerely appreciated the prayers and support of Fr. Joseph Johnson SJ and the Grace Hospital Pastoral Care Team during her health challenges. Donations in Margaret's memory may be made to Winnipeg Harvest, 1085 Winnipeg Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3E 0S2 or the charity of your choice. To live on in the hearts of those we love is to never die Funeral mass will be celebrated at the St. John Brebeuf Roman Catholic Church, 1707 St. John Brebeuf Place on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Funeral mass will be concelebrated by Msgr.
