VIOLET ELAINE EDMONDSON (nee SPARVATH) After a long illness, Violet Elaine Edmondson passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2005 at Douglas Campbell Lodge in Portage la Prairie, at the age of 86 years. She was predeceased by her first husband Milton McMahon; her second husband John Dunn; parents, Yens and Ellen Sparvath; granddaughter Kimberley; and sisters, Beatrice, Leona and Doreen. She will be lovingly remembered by beloved husband Mark Edmondson of Douglas Campbell Lodge, Portage la Prairie; children, Myrt Sturgis of California, Dave (Carol) Dunn of Winnipeg, Margaret Palmer of Oakville and Irene (David) Armishaw of Stonewall; grandchildren, Shannon Pirlot, Jo-Anne Dalrymple, Curtis Calvert, Kristin Dunn, Leslee Sturgis, Lynnsee Cohen, Bradley Armishaw, Cheryl Armishaw, Sean Palmer and Cory Palmer; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Edna McMahon of Alberta, Rhoda (Russell) Kunzelman of Inwood, Irene Corrigal of Teulon and Rose-Mary (Lyle) Hodge of Winnipeg; step-mother Mary Sparvath of Teulon along with many nieces and nephews and special friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 19, at 7:00 p.m. at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will take place at Highway Tabernacle, 1680 Saskatchewan Ave. West, with Ron Moffit officiating on December 20, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. Following the reception the family will have a private interment at the family plot in the Oakville Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Vi's memory to Canadian CancerCare, 675 McDermot, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, c/o Catherine Newham - Portage Office, 103 Wilkinson Cres., Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 1A7 or a charity of your choice.
