Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLILLIAN (JILL) AUGUSTA HILLCOX August 6, 1929 - December 16, 2005 On Friday, December 16, 2005, Jill passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers and a severe stroke in March of 2002. She left us with many rich memories of her love for her family and friends. Jill's death is mourned by her three sisters, Margery Mazer (Henry) of Weyburn, SK, Nelliedean Weeds (Art) of Vedder Crossing, BC, Ann Marks (Stan) Winnipeg, MB; sister-in-law Nellie Sutton, Naramata, BC and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jill was predeceased by her husband Murray Gordon Hillcox, October 16, 1998; her mother in 1988; her father in 1950; her sister Elizabeth in infancy; her sister Irene Hankins in 1968; her brother George in 1975; her brother Henry in 1994; her brother Keith in 1996; her sister Miriam Hannah in 2001. Jill was born August 6, 1929 to Jessie Lillian Dunham and Henry Thomas Cluett in the municipality of Birtle, MB. Her first nine years of schooling were at Lansburn School and she finished her schooling at Foxwarren High School. Jill worked for Manitoba Telephone System at Russell, MB until her marriage to Murray Hillcox in 1947. Jill and Murray farmed in the Foxwarren area until 1976 at which time they sold their farmland and moved to Winnipeg. Jill worked at Eatons, Polo Park until her retirement in 1994. Jill and Murray travelled extensively until their health no longer allowed them to do so. Jill and Murray celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary October 28, 1997. Jill was very proud of her many years of community involvement with Beta Sigma Phi and the Heart and Stroke Foundation Campaign in February of each year. Special thanks go to Jill's care givers at St. Norbert Personal Care Home for the past three and a half years. The love and kindness that you gave to her was greatly appreciated by Jill and her family. In keeping with Jill's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at Foxwarren, MB in the spring of 2006 at which time her remains will be placed in the family plot at the Foxwarren Municipal Cemetery. Time and date announcement of her memorial to be made at a later date.
