Date of Passing: Dec 06, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGINA MARY KEANE April 24, 1899 - December 6, 2005 Our beloved Nana passed away Tuesday evening, December 6, 2005 at the Extendicare Tuxedo Villa, having attained the magnificent age of 106 and a half. She passed quickly and peacefully, joining her husband Perce who predeceased her in February of 1967. She was born Georgina Mary Alder in St. Hubert, QC on April 24, 1899 to Colonel and Mrs. Alder. The Alder family later moved to Nepean, ON where she and her two brothers, Raymond and Gordon, were raised. Georgina moved to Saskatoon, SK where she met and married Earl Percival Keane in October of 1929. They moved to Winnipeg in the early 1930s and in 1937, their only child, a son John Wiliam (Jack) was born. Nan's life was blessed with many friends, most of them avid bridge players, but the highlights of her life were her son, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, her two brothers, and her husband Perce, she is survived by her son Jack (Mary Ann), her grandson Billy (Kerri) and great-grandchildren Taylor, Geordie and Brendan, her granddaughter Jackie Brown (Jeff) and great-grandson Keanen, and her grandson Mike (Tammy) and great-grandchildren Jackson and Olivia. At Nan's request, no funeral will be held; following cremation, a family celebration of her life will take place at a later date. Thomson In The Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers or any other type of memorial, donations may be made to the organization of the donor's choice in Georgina's name. The family wishes to extend our grateful thanks to the staff at the Tuxedo Villa, especially those on Station One - their care and consideration made her comfortable throughout her lengthy stay, and above all, they made her feel safe.
