Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN YANCHUK Peacefully, on Thursday, December 15, 2005, at the age of 87, John passed away after a long battle with congestive heart failure and a recent stroke at N1 North Concordia Hospital. John was born June 7, 1918 on the family farm in Hazelridge, MB, to Wasyl and Fedora Yanchuk, (commonly known as the Johnsons). He was predeceased by his loving wife Pearl in 1999, as well as his parents, five sisters Jenny, Annie, Mary, Sophie, Doris and his brother Nick. He is survived by his special sister Nettie Watsko, many nieces and nephews, their spouses and children. John was a man of all trades, a Mr. Fix-it, machine operator and foreman for the Springfield municipality, and enjoyed farming and logging. He was a founding member and builder of Saint Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Eastdale, MB. He was especially proud of his wife Pearl's nieces, Gloria, Terry and Trudy and nephew Gerry, helping sister-in-law Ann to raise them after their father's tragic death. John will be lovingly remembered by all. A special thank you to his nephews, Ted (Mary) Lucko, Gerry (Lori) Sichello, Ed (Shirley) Postello, great-niece Patricia (Bill) Brokke, and great-great-nieces, Laura and Crystal Brokke, neighbour Alice (Wayne) Corney, Home Care, Concordia Hospital nurses, care workers and doctors for their comfort, presence, TLC and love they always gave. Service to celebrate John's life is Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Reception to follow. Interment will take place thereafter at the Eastdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and in John's memory, donations may be made to the Eastdale Cemetery Maintenance Fund, Box 796, R.R. 1, Anola, R0E 0A0, in care of Herb Skipper. Vichnaya Pam'Yat Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
