VERONIKA (VERA) HORVATH It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, mother-in-law Veronika (Vera) Horvath (nee Rajtar) on December 17, 2005 at the Concordia Hospital. Vera was born in Slovenia, August 8, 1934. She came to Canada in 1957 where she married Josef Horvath and started their family. Vera was predeceased by her husband Josef in August 1987, her brother Ivan Rajtar in March 1982 and mother Anna Rajtar in April 1982. Vera left 3 children and 9 grandchildren behind to celebrate her life - son Joseph and his wife Jeanne, their children Jayden Cole and Morgan, son John and his wife Susan, their children Megan, Sydney and Hayley and daughter Maria and her children Jessica, Ashley and Dylan. Vera's life is also celebrated by her sister Barbara Ceh of Winnipeg, nephews, nieces, cherished friends and neighbors and relatives from Slovenia. Vera (Momca) was extremely devoted to her children and grandchildren, always cooking, baking and babysitting. Momca enjoyed playing cards and games with her grandchildren. Her sense of humor will be fondly remembered. Vera shared her cheerful personality in everything she undertook including assisting at the church during special occasions such as Folklorama. Vera enjoyed many trips to the beach with her young family, time at the cottage with grandchildren, as well as hours of gardening. Vera always put her family and others before herself. She gave her all with everything she did. Vera, being very spirited still rolled cabbage rolls, pinched perogies and made cookie dough even with the use of only one arm, always dropping enough on the floor to treat the household pets. Vera will be greatly missed with many fond memories by all who knew her. Prayers will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 95 MacDonald Ave. with Rev. Fr. Stan Gacek as celebrant. Interment to follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens on Highway #1. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Vera's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
