TONY SKABAR October 18, 1900 - December 17, 2005 After a short illness, the family sadly announces the passing of our dear father, grandfather and great grandfather Tony, at Sandy Lake Personal Care Home. He was predeceased by his wife Mary (1971); daughter Isabel (1950); brothers Jacob (1970), John (1974) and three sisters in the Ukraine. He is survived by daughter Jean (Ted) Dupley, son Ross (Lillian); grandchildren, Brad, Debbie (Jim), Derek (Kirsten) Dupley, Cheryl (Glen) Kuntz and Janet (Rob) Miller; great grand-children, Chelsea, Jaclyn, Katelyn and Justin Dupley, Evan Miller and many nieces and nephews. Dad came to Canada from the Ukraine in 1923, started his life as a labourer, progressing to barbering and then as a very talented meticulous finishing carpenter. He enjoyed gardening, politics, playing cards, sports, especially curling, hockey and football. A special thanks to the staff at Sandy Lake Personal Care Home for their dedicated and compassionate care of our father over the past six years. Prayers will be said Tuesday, December 20 at 7:00 p.m. and funeral service on Wednesday, December 21 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Elphinstone, MB. Interment to follow in the local cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Tony to a charity of your choice.
