FRANCES RITA SHEK (nee KAZIMIROWICH) July 1936 - December 2005 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our wife, mother and grandmother, Frances on Sunday, December 18, 2005. She is survived by her loving husband Albert; her children, Diane (Doug) Gillis, Ken (Bev) Shek, Patty (Ralph) Keicher; grandchildren, Kara and Heather Gillis, Jeff and Kevin Shek and Karli and Amber Keicher. She also leaves to mourn, her brother Eddie (Jackie) Kazimirowich; her sister Bernice Minarik; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Mike and Caroline Kazimirowich; her brothers, Mike Sowa and Frank Kazimirowich; sisters, Mary Bidochka and Joan Smikies. Mom was born in Meleb, MB. She later moved to Winnipeg, where she graduated from Isaac Newton High School. She was married to Albert on October 1, 1955, and they began their family of three children. She devoted her time to her family and was an active volunteer for many years at the West Kildonan Community Centre. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, cooking, visiting with family and friends and attending her children's sporting events. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren, who brightened her day with their visits and their stories. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the doctors and staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and support during Mom's stay. We would also like to thank the doctors and staff at the Kildonan Medical Centre Clinic and at the Health Sciences Centre Ambulatory Care for all their care during Mom's illness. Funeral service will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Burrin Ave., on Thursday, December 22 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing prior to service. Msgr. Michael Moore officiating.
