ELSIE BEATRICE TAPSAY (nee PARSONS) Passed away peacefully on December 17, 2005 in Cochrane, AB at the age of 82 years. Predeceased in 1986 by her husband Leonard Peter Tapsay, Elsie is survived by one son Jeffrey (Carol) of Cochrane and one daughter Carol-Ann (John) Keenan of Fredericksburg, VA as well as grandchildren, Jessie and Casey Tapsay and Tristan and Sarah Keenan. Elsie is also survived by her sisters, Lillian Coulter, Doris (John) Tippett, Peggy Young, Joan (Nick) Yaro and Trudy (Val) Charles. She was predeceased by her only brother Donald (Olive) Parsons. Elsie was born in Minnedosa, MB but spent most of her young life in Winnipeg. In the late 1940s Elsie began working at one of the local tourist resorts in the Ignace, ON area, where she met Leonard. In 1950 they were married in Fort William, ON. They returned to Ignace, where they owned and operated Raleigh Lake Lodge for more than 20 years. Elsie moved to Edmonton in 1972, and later followed her children to Victoria, Hawaii, Kelowna, Virginia and finally Cochrane, AB. Elsie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunty and friend. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by all. A family celebration of Elsie's life has been held in Cochrane following cremation. A family service of interment will be held later this year in Winnipeg. Flowers gratefully declined.
