GIOVANNA ANANIA (nee GRANDE) Peacefully, at the Victoria Hospital on December 22, 2005 Giovanna Grande Anania passed away at the age of 88 years. Giovanna was predeceased by her husband Raffaele, her mother Concetta Grande. She will be sadly missed by her sister Rosina Grande in Italy; her daughters, Maria (Mario) Scerbo, Coni Anania, Carmelina Jones; grandchildren, Charlie (Linda), Raffaele, Tina (Mike), Mario (Tannis), Olimpia, Peter and great-grandchildren, Jenna, Sarah, Rachael. Giovanna was an independent woman who loved to cook and work in her garden. She was very friendly, generous and hospitable. Her outgoing personality gave her an opportunity to meet new people and make everyone feel welcome. She was always concerned for her family and friends, this was demonstrated by her helpfulness and generosity she always shared with us. Giovanna will be forever loved and remembered by her family and friends. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 24, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. with viewing one-half hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow in the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, 3990 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations in Giovanna's memory can be made to the Heart Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
