BERTHA JOHNSON (nee WOLTMAN) Peacefully, on the morning of December 16, 2005, Bertha Johnson (nee Woltman) passed away at the age of 94 years. Bertha is survived by two sisters, Hannah Ratchinsky and Teenie Walters; one sister-in-law Helen Woltman and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, William and Ed Woltman; and three sisters Minnie Sauder, Emma Casper, and Alvina Cameron. Bertha lived most of her adult years at Manitoba Housing Complex on Hendon Street in Winnipeg until failing health necessitated her placement at Oakview Place Personal Care Home in May 2005. Bertha will be fondly remembered for her special skills at knitting and crocheting on which she spent countless hours making gifts for friends and relatives alike. Cremation has taken place; a graveside service will take place at the Emerson Cemetery, Emerson, MB, on Thursday, December 29 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Salvation Army, 500-55 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 1L8.
