THERESIA ELISABETH DEPPENDORF It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Theresia Elisabeth Deppendorf on Thursday, December 22, 2005. Thea was predeceased by her husband Fritz; her parents Michael and Julia Marie Stander; three brothers and two sisters. Her memory will be cherished by her daughter, Marianne (Terry) Burt; her grandson, Gregory (Susan) Deppendorf and granddaughter Brigitta Desjardine; and great-grandchildren, Marianna, Sara, Kaitlin, Rebecca and Brendan. She will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law, Inge Preuss and many friends and relatives in Herford, Germany. Thea was born in Lindau, Germany on November 19, 1915 and married her husband Fritz on August 12, 1938. The family immigrated to Winnipeg on July 11, 1954 to begin a new wonderful life. They acquired property at Red Rock Lake in the Whiteshell Provincial Park and constructed a tourist resort. She spent many happy years there as well as in their park-like residence along the banks of the Red River. Over the years she made many life long friends. Thea loved music and singing and most especially dancing. She and Fritz could be frequently observed enjoying this pastime in the screen house at the lake or in the clubrooms of the German Society of Winnipeg where they were members. She loved to travel and enjoyed many wonderful trips with Fritz and in latter years with Marianne and Terry. Thea was a very devoted wife and mother who loved her family above all. All of our family cherishes our fond memories of her. She has left a void in our lives and we will honour her memory forever. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 28 at 1:00 p.m. at Kildonan Presbyterian Cemetery, 2373 Main St. with Pastor Don Engel as officiant.
