Joe was proud of his French Canadian heritage and was a member of the St. Norbert Roman Catholic Church. Upon completion of his studies at St. Norbert Collegiate, Joe was then employed by the Canadian Pacific Railroad for over 40 years, until his retirement as paymaster. Joe always lived life to the fullest and was an avid traveller and historian. Joe's family always benefited from his experiences, knowledge and the many stories of the fascinating places to which he travelled. These travels took Joe to such destinations as Florida, Hawaii, Australia and France. In addition, Joe travelled extensively within Canada. Joe's travels clearly illustrated his love of family, as family members were either included as travelling companions or visits to relatives, separated by distance, were the most important aspect of the trip. Joe's time with family was very special to him and he was always an integral part of all family occasions. Joe hosted the annual New Year's Day celebration as well as numerous special family gatherings. His kindness, generosity and wonderful sense of humour were freely and constantly displayed. Joe's keen interest in the well being of every member of his family clearly illustrated his love and devotion. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Tomy and the nursing staff of the 5th Floor, Victoria Hospital.
