STELLA SKOCHYLAS Peacefully at Middlechurch Home, on Friday, December 23, 2005, Mom left us to join Dad who predeceased her on November 27, 2002. She is survived by son Tony and his wife Shirley; daughter Helen and partner Basil; grandchildren, Micheal Skochylas, Shelley (James) Roy, Derrick (Amanda) Amy, Nicole (Rylan) Reid; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Moyra; three sisters and two brothers, Julia, Pauline, Nick, Bill and Olga; and many nieces and nephews. Stella was born August 9, 1920, in St. Norbert, MB to Michael and Anna Stecy. Stella married Pete Skochylas October 23, 1943. They married in Manitoba and then moved to the Homefield District where they farmed and raised their family. She was predeceased by her husband Pete; brothers Steve, Harry; sisters, Mary, Kathie, Nellie, Rosie; son-in-law Clifford Amy. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, December 28 at 7:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 29 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, Komarno. Interment will follow at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Middlechurch Home, Winnipeg for their wonderful care and compassion shown to Stella during her stay.
