VIKTOR BERGEN Suddenly at his residence, on December 24, 2005 Viktor Bergen beloved husband of Helene Bergen of Winnipeg, passed away at the age of 79 years. Besides his wife Helene he is survived by daughter Inge (Herman Froese); sons, Heinz (Karen), Helmut (Shelley) Neil (Sharon) and Frank, also nine grandchildren; tante Kaethe Bergen. He was predeceased by son Oskar; grandson Dale Froese; and one brother Jura Bergen; and one sister Jenya; also his parents, Heinrich Bergen and Paula Fedotowa. Viktor was born in Halbstadt, Colony Molotchna, Ukraine and during the war he moved to Germany, then to Paraguay, where he met Helene and in 1961 they moved to Canada. Prior to retirement, Viktor worked at Monarch Machinery as a tool and die maker. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 29, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sargent Avenue Mennonite Church, Garfield and Sargent with interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Viewing at the church prior to the service. If friends desire donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee available at the service.
