M. LAURA VINCELETTE Peacefully on Saturday, December 24, 2005, at the Lions Prairie Manor, Laura Vincelette, Portage la Prairie, formerly of Elie, Manitoba, widow of the late Murdoch Vincelette, passed away at the age of 98 years. Prayers will be held in the Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, Elie, MB on Thursday, December 29, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held in the Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, Elie, MB on Thursday, December 29, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Father Denis Bernardin officiating and Deacon Conrad Plante assisting. Interment will follow in the churchyard cemetery. Laura was born on August 2, 1907, daughter of Virginie and Jean Baptiste St Germain at Pigeon Lake, Manitoba, where she was raised and received her education. She then looked after her parents and family until 1936 when she married Murdoch Vincelette. Together they farmed in the Elie district for a number of years. In 1990 she moved to the Manor in Elie, and in 2000 she moved to the Lions Prairie Manor in Portage. Her church and her family were the most important part of her life. She was one of the Ladies of St Anne. Laura enjoyed gardening, cooking and travelling. Predeceased by her husband Murdoch, her son Arnold, daughter-in-law Paulette, grandson Sean, brothers, Alexander, Henry, Joseph, Michael, Tobie, William, John, Leonard, sisters, Maria, and Mary Anne; she leaves to mourn her passing her son John of Winnipeg, her son Gordon of Elie, her daughter Doreen of Quesnel, BC, daughter-in-law Roberta of Winnipeg, grandchildren Charlene Webster, Jody and Bradley Vincelette, and great-grandchild Coral Webster. Also surviving is her sister-in-law Jean of Portage, and many nieces and nephews. Should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Lions Prairie Manor Foundation, 24 9th St. SE, Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, R1N 3V4.
