DOROTHY VERNA (CHERRIE) ARCHIBALD
Date of Passing: Dec 20, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY VERNA (CHERRIE) ARCHIBALD On Tuesday, December 20, 2005, Dorothy, daughter of the late Dorothy and Fred Archibald, passed away at Deer Lodge Centre. Known through most of her life as Cherrie, she and her cat, Whiskers, enjoyed many summers at Victoria Beach where she owned and rented a number of cottages. An avid bridge player, her winters were devoted to various groups, mainly the Winnipeg Winter Club, where she acted as secretary for the duplicate bridge group for many years. A long time resident at The Wellington and always sensitive to the feelings of others, Cherrie kept in touch with her friends until her condition robbed her of that ability. She will be missed not only by her local friends, but also by her many loving relatives who faithfully visited her and monitored her failing health. Many thanks to the caring staff at Deer Lodge Centre who made her life as pleasant as possible. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will take place at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Deer Lodge Centre Foundation Inc., 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3, or The Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3.
