DELMER HAIGHT Delmer Leonard Haight, born March 6, 1930 in Cartwright, MB, passed away suddenly on December 16, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Elaine (Vincent), sons, Vince (Vicki Woloschuk), Hal (Leanne), Clint (Nancy), daughters, Jane (John Hansen), Karen (Tim Gigliotti), grandchildren, Meghan, Sean and Kieran (Hal), Drew and Wade (Clint), Leah, Heidi and Erik Hansen, Cole and Luke Gigliotti, his brother Derwin (Thelma), his in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Len and Lil, nephew Gary, parents-in-law, George and Belle and brother-in-law Clarence. Delmer took great pride in his family and was happiest when we were all together. Cartwright was home and was close to his heart. He farmed all his life and respected the land he worked. He had favourite hilltops where he would sit and appreciate the beauty around him. The view from the home he and Elaine made in town was also a source of great pleasure. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours driving around watching the local wildlife. He had a great love of sports; played hockey, baseball and curled and was an active participant on many community teams. He took pride in his involvement with the Cartwright Clippers' success and enjoyed being a fan of his children and grandchildren. He was fond of music, harmony and dancing. He enjoyed singing with family and friends and watching his children and grandchildren perform at festivals and in choirs. Delmer was a quiet, thoughtful man. His honesty, modesty and sense of fair play were his attributes. The funeral celebrating his life took place December 20 at Cartwright United Church. Beth Clark officiated. Thank you to all who attended. Memories of him will be cherished by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cartwright Community Independent School, Cartwright, MB or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Our thanks to Graham's Funeral Service Pilot Mound.
