GEORGE THOMSON It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of their beloved husband, father and grandfather, George Thomson on Monday, December 26, 2005 at Seven Oaks Hospital. George was born on December 7, 1927 in Addiwell, Scotland. He came to Canada in 1951 and settled in Winnipeg. After a short time in the Air Force he began his 35 year career with the Federal Department of Transport as a Communications Technician, retiring in 1989. His memory will forever be cherished by his beloved wife of 51 years, Doris; daughters, Charlin, Patricia, Elizabeth and Jody (Randy); grandchildren, Erin (Jack), Kristin, Ryan and Reed; and great-grandchildren, Alaina, Kalie, Sydney and Jake. He is also survived by his siblings, James, William and Mary and their families in Scotland and England. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary and brother John. George loved all sports and was a great golfer. He always took interest in the activities of his daughters and grandchildren and often gave advice about how to achieve the perfect golf swing. He took special pride in giving his golf clubs to his grandson Ryan to carry on the golfing legacy. Dad was generous, honest and caring. He was a truly good man with a great sense of humour. We will cherish all our fond memories of him and we will honour his memory always. The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital in U8 on the 4th floor for their compassionate care of our Dad. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in George's memory to the charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Eden Funeral Home 4477 Main St. 338-7111
