Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryETHEL MARGARET NORTH (nee KERR) 1922 - 2005 Surrounded by her family, after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's, Margaret died peacefully on Monday, December 26, 2005. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Vernon Crawford North in 1989. Mom , Grandma , Gee Gee was born September 14, 1922 in Miami, MB to Dulce and Jim Kerr. She married Vernon North in 1942 and had 47 wonderful years of marriage. Mom is survived by her three children, Wendy, Marni and Jim, her nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Wendy (Ed) Waggoner and their children and grandchildren, Marni (Pete) Tessier, Liam and Jay, Jodi (Brian) Kreitz, Eddie, Matthew, Braidie and Chloe and Michael Waggoner; Marni (LaVern) Loewen and their children and grandchildren, Mark (Sandra) Loewen, sons, Zak and Pace, Matthew (Colleen) Loewen, sons, Xavier, Quintin and Tristan, Mary-Liz (Jason) Borseth, Max, Lexi and Lily; Jim (Lynn) North and their children, Jaimie (Ryan) Bristow, Adam and Nicolas. She is also survived by her sister Jean Murray of Miami, MB, sister-in-law Dorothy North of Carman and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Alton and Margaret North of Victoria, BC and many beloved nieces and nephews who were such a big part of her life. Mom was an avid golfer and downhill skier, a love she shared with her husband and family. Many happy times were spent at Breezy Bend Golf Club and at their A-frame cottage at Ski Birch with her family, extended family and friends. If she wasn't golfing, she was playing bridge with her very dear friends or curled up with a good book and peanut M Ms. Mom was a great volunteer, she gave many hours to the Girl Guides in Regina, and also served as a Sunday School Teacher. After moving to Winnipeg in 1963, she and Dad spent many hours volunteering at the River Heights Community Club. Mom ran the canteen at the community club (when potato chips were a nickel and there was still penny candy.) The family is indebted to the nurses and caregivers on 2 South at West Park Manor for the wonderful and loving care they gave her. In lieu of flowers, friends may consider a charitable donation to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 or a charity of your choice.
