Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTERNIE EDWARD REEME It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, brother, and uncle. Sternie passed away Monday, December 26, 2005 at Seven Oaks Hospital. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Kim; sisters, Sheila Zagoray, Carroll (Jack) Thompson; brothers, Wayne, Laurence (Jeanette), Arlen and Gene; also sister-in-law, Marg Pettinger; along with half brother Cory; and half sister Daphne; and a great many nieces and nephews. Sternie will also be greatly missed by his brother-in-law Robert and wife Mari; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, June and Bob Jackson; along with many friends and his trusted and true companion Lady . Sternie was predeceased by his mother Nora, and father Kenneth, and also a brother Lovall. Sternie was born on April 14, 1940 in Leross, SK, his story being, that he was born in a little log cabin on the prairie. He grew up in Melville and Bigger, SK, and as a young man loved to work on cars. When at 19, he was in a serious car accident, consequently leaving him confined to a wheelchair for the remainder of his life. Sternie spent many, many years at Luther Home, where he worked as a telephone operator for the hearing impaired, During this time, one of the employees caught his eye and a marriage blossomed, lasting for 21 wonderful years. A few years later, he was transferred to an MTS Centre, as a relay operator (for the hearing impaired) from where he later retired. He was an avid reader, especially on automotive books, covering all types of models and makes, thus being able to coach many of his friends on the mechanics of car repairs. He also loved the outdoors and spent as many hours as possible, viewing their yard and garden. Special thanks to the first response team, paramedics and emergency staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, 5th floor, unit one and intensive care staff, especially Dr. Cleghorn and Lorretta, Sternie's compassionate nurse. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 30, at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with private interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sternie's name may be made to Ronald McDonald House, or a charity of one's choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
