Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET (PEGGY) BAKER-MACLEAN Peggy Baker-Maclean passed away December 27, 2005 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, at the age of 81. Born in Brandon, MB on September 9, 1924, Peggy was raised in Winnipeg, attending Britannia School in St. James. She married William Bill John Baker on October 26, 1942, in Winnipeg, prior to Bill enlisting in the Royal Canadian Air Force. While Bill was away Peggy worked as a hairdresser in Winnipeg eventually moving to St. Catharines, ON where Bill was stationed during the Second World War. After the war Bill worked for T.C.A. (Air Canada) in Winnipeg where he and Peg raised their three children, Bill (1946), Lynda (1950) and Randall (1953). In December, 1961 the family moved to Regina where Bill continued to work for Air Canada and Peggy worked for the T. Eaton Company. They eventually retired to Fort Qu'Appelle where Peggy began working for the federal department of Indian Affairs, retiring in 1985. Bill and Peg wanted to spend winters in the southern United States and enjoyed one winter as snowbirds before Bill passed away in 1987. Peggy continued to spend six months a year wintering in Hemet, CA where she met Michael Maclean of Silver Lake, AB. They were married in Fort Qu'Appelle in June, 1990 and moved to Churchbridge, SK in 1992. Mickey passed away in December, 1999. Peggy moved to the Bentley Retirement Community in Yorkton, SK in June of 2003 where she resided until her passing. She was predeceased by her parents, an infant son Terry Allan, her first husband William John Baker Sr., her second husband Michael Paul Maclean, a brother-in-law Patrick Gordon Baker and a sister-in-law Dorothy (Al) Hingtgen. Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her sons, William John Baker Jr. and Randall Brent Baker, both of Fort Qu'Appelle, her daughter Lynda Janet Johnston of Churchbridge, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, brother William Parker of Penticton, BC, sister-in-law Margaret Baker of Milestone, and many nephews, nieces and friends. Viewing for family and friends is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 29 at the Christie-Hill Funeral Chapel, Yorkton. A graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 30 in Regina Memorial Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted to Christie-Hill Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Yorkton.
