BERNICE ELIZABETH PARBERY (nee SCARR) April 14, 1933 - December 27, 2005 Surrounded by her loving family, Bernice Parbery passed away at St. Boniface General Hospital on December 27, 2005. Bernice was predeceased by her parents, Ivy and Stan Scarr in 2004. She will be sadly missed by her husband Gordon; children, David, Grant (of Calgary) and Carolyn (husband Alberto Hernandez) and her grandchildren, Caitlin and Matthew Curtis and Gabriel Hernandez. She is survived by her brother Stan Scarr (wife Lorraine); sisters, Barb (husband Bob Picken) and Diane Becker (husband Jack Brown of Vancouver) and several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Bernice was family-oriented and enormously proud of her children and grandchildren. After retirement from a successful career at the TD Bank she enjoyed taking cruises with her husband and other family members and friends, travelling throughout the Caribbean and visiting Hawaii and Alaska by ship. Another trip that she enjoyed very much was a tour of central Europe. She also enjoyed knitting, cross-stitch and petit-pointe and was an avid reader. Bernice never tired of learning and frequently enrolled in courses to acquire new skills and develop new interests. At Bernices' own request no formal funeral service will be held. A celebration of Bernice's life will take place at a later date. Cremation has taken place. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at St. Boniface Palliative Care for the excellent care she received. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bernice's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 9Z9.
