STELLA ALICE DESMARAIS (nee PREFONTAINE) 1948 - 2005 It is with great sadness that we, her family, announce the untimely passing of Stella Desmarais on Tuesday, December 27, 2005. Stella was born in Elie, MB and moved to Lorette, MB where she met her husband Ray and started a family. Mom always took great pride in looking out for her family but always allowing enough space to let personalities develop. She became friends with almost everyone who entered her life with the same respect as she gave others. To be her friend meant that you where committed to a friend for life. No detail was ever too small for her children, grandchildren or godson. Stella will be greatly missed by her husband of 39 years Ray; children, Rolly (Nadeen) and Pauline (Jeff) Hindbo; grandchildren, Riley and Kendell Desmarais and Nicholas and Makenna Hindbo; brother Leo Prefontaine; and sisters, Yvette (Vic) Desmarais, Rolande Gauthier, Doris (Bob) Draward and Helene (Lloyd) Demarke. Her family would like to especially thank all those who came to support us through the most difficult time of our life. Also a sincere appreciation to the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons St. Interment will follow at the Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, all donations could be made in Stella's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. The Desjardins Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 233-4949; toll free 1-888-233-4949. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.desjardins-funeral.ca.
