Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLOUISE WINIFRED TAYLOR (nee BURNS) Peacefully, surrounded by her family, Louise passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2005 at the Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 87. Proud and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother ( GG ), she will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her husband of 63 years, Alex; sons, Barry (Marisa) and Gary (Irene); grandchildren, Sandi (Rob), Nikki (David) and Jason; Mike (Sharon), Christina (Jean-Marc) and Tim (Claire-Ann); great-grandchildren, Devon, Cameron and Jaron. Louise will be also missed by her sister-in-law Irene; special daughters , Barb (Gary) and Jan (Dale); extended family, friends and neighbours. She was the last of the Burns children, predeceased by her siblings and her parents. Louise, affectionately known as Mick , was born in Paddington Green, London, England and came to Canada as a baby at the end of the First World War, where she resided in Winnipeg and considered it to be her home. She met Alex in 1939, they married in 1942 and she was left to give birth to and raise their first child as Alex was sent overseas to serve in the Second World War. Mick stayed home to raise her two sons, entering the work force when they were grown. She was employed at Eaton's and the University of Manitoba. Always young at heart, her sons enjoyed her playfulness on the baseball diamond and at many social gatherings. Her support was everlasting and endless. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, taking them on many excursions, including the Paddlewheel, the Prairie Dog and visiting Winnipeg Beach. Special visits from her great-grandsons always brought out her ever youthful spark. Mick's love of sports, particularly watching hockey, was always a passion. She enjoyed playing cards, singing old songs, celebrating Christmas and baking everyone's favourite treats, banging on pots and pans to bring in the New Year and laughing for hours. In keeping with Louise's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Our family would like to thank the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital and the ICU, especially Dr. Selaman, Nicki, Karen and Lidel, for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations in Louise's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Manitoba Lung Association or the Children's Wish Foundation. We love you truly Louise's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
