CAROL ANNE SCHMIDT Carol passed away peacefully in Qualicum Beach, BC, December 8, 2005 after a brave year of debilitating pain and suffering. Carol is survived by her husband Ray, now residing in Parksville's Trillium Lodge, her son Chris McCann in Winnipeg, Chris' wife Karey and their two daughters, Sarah and Natalie and Carol's sister Betty Tudor and her husband Harry and their two children, Jo and Mike. Carol was born in Winnipeg June 1, 1943. She graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in Physical Education. She and Ray moved from Winnipeg to Qualicum Beach in 1992 where they operated a bed and breakfast. She was renowned locally as a fibre artist and her coats, vests, hats and a variety of other products were highly sought after. Carol had many friends who took turns being by her side 24 hours a day during her last week. A celebration of her life is planned for the spring of 2006 in Qualicum Beach, when all her relatives and friends from across the country are better able to travel.
