ROBERT (BERT) GILLESPIE Passed away at Beausejour Hospital on Christmas Day, 2005. His passing was sudden but a blessing to his anticipated future suffering. He is survived by sister Eileen, brother Thomas (Tom), and his extended family. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret in 1955. Bert attended Lord Selkirk, and St. John's Tech. He joined the Navy at the age of 18. He was on Canada's first Cruiser Uganda. He served in the Red Sea to Russia and later went to Australia on way to the Japan War. When he came home, he joined The Winnipeg Police Force and became a Detective. During his last five years, he spent his time listening to a radio program that was a trip through the Bible in five years by Vernon McGee. With one final chapter remaining, Bert was taken Home . Absent from the body is to be present with the Lord . Cremation has taken place, and a private family graveside service will be held at later date.
