Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMANUEL (MANNY) ROSS It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Emanuel (Manny) Ross on Thursday, December 15, 2005. Manny will be lovingly remembered by his wife Mary. His children, Diane (Richard) Boroditsky, Michelle (Dave) Craigen, Bernie (Chuck) Gyug, Maureen (Wade) Isaak, Howard (Karen) Ottenbreit, Mel (Susan) Ottenbreit; 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Manny, one of four brothers, was born in London, England where he lived until joining the Royal Air Force in 1943. During his growing up years Manny began to get a love of retail clothing working in the garment district of the east end of London. Upon joining the air force he was stationed in Moose Jaw, SK. After the war he worked in retail clothing, ran a general store, as well as working in hotel management. In 1973 he moved to Winnipeg where he began a career at Holt Renfrew in the men's wear department, and remained there until his retirement in 1994. His expertise in men's retail was renowned. Manny was loved by all who knew him. He was a man who loved to sing, dance and tell a good story. Manny had a passion for curling, a good sense of humour, and was an avid reader. Manny was an honest, gentle man who loved his family, and had a wonderful sense of loving life. He will be greatly missed. The family wishes to thank the staff on the 2nd floor at Riverview Health Centre for their wonderful care and compassion. Funeral services were held Sunday, December 18, 2005 at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue. Pallbearers were his son-in-law Richard Boroditsky and his grandchildren Alan, Steven, Michael Boroditsky, Jeremy and Sarah Quickfall. Honorary pallbearers were son-in-law Dave Craigen, step-sons Mel and Howard Ottenbriet; Wade Isaak; Chuck Gyug. Donations may be made to Winnipeg Harvest or a charity of your choice.
