Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMABEL SOLNES (nee CASPER) Mabel Solnes, 86, formerly of Dominion City, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2005 at Betel Home, Selkirk, MB. Mom was predeceased by her sister Lydia, and brothers, Paul, Harry, and Gerry. She will lovingly be remembered by her sons, Wesley (Lonna) and Dwayne (Sharon); her sisters, Lena Wilson, Iona Boutet and Violet Hatherly (Jack); brother Ben Casper; grandchildren, Dayna (Mike) Roszmann, Signe, Amanda, Kerri-lyn, and Eric; great-grandchildren, Michael and Tysen Roszmann; as well as many nieces and nephews. Mabel was born in Greenridge, MB, August 12, 1919. She grew up in the Greenridge and Dominion City area. She worked as a cook, cleaner, and did other various jobs. In 1944, she was married to Louis Solnes. They bought a Cafe in 1945, that they owned and operated for 34 years. They then built a home in Dominion City where she resided until May of 2003. Wanting to be closer to her sons and their families, she then moved to the Betel Home in Selkirk. We would like to thank the Home Care workers that assisted Mom when she was still at home, and also to the staff of Betel Home for being so kind and generous to our mother. A funeral service will be held Monday, January 2, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Dominion City United Church in Dominion City, with viewing one half hour prior. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME CREMATORIUM 18 Main Street, Selkirk, MB 204 - 785 - 1575
