OLGA TYWONAK (KABAN)
Date of Passing: Dec 25, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA TYWONAK (nee KABAN) Peacefully, on Sunday, December 25, 2005, our beloved mother and grandmother, Olga Tywonak, passed away at the Concordia Hospital. Olga was predeceased by her loving parents, William and Anne Kaban (nee Marko) and her cherished sister, Pauline Senkiw. She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, her loving daughter, Bonnie Pike, her special granddaughter, Meghan; and numerous relatives who will miss her deeply. Mom was born in Transcona, spending the majority of her life as a member of the community. She was a very proud resident of Transcona, and especially proud of her Ukrainian heritage. This heritage will be missed, as no family shower was ever complete without Mom's rendition of Mno Hya Lyta. Mom will always be remembered for her outgoing and bubbly personality and her positive attitude. Mom's favourite pastime was her garden. Her vegetables were superb and she spent many hours canning and preserving her garden's bounty. Although her favourite flowers were yellow roses, her Asiatic lilies, which she lovingly tended, were incredible. Mom enjoyed spending time at the family cottage at Victoria Beach. She loved blueberry picking and would never leave the patch unless her container was full. In July of 1990, the light of her life was born, her granddaughter Meghan. The joy on Mom's face, when she first lovingly held her cherished granddaughter, never faded. Mom and Meghan spent many happy hours together, doing crafts and playing store. Mom always kept current with the latest movies and music, to always relate to her granddaughter as she grew older. Meghan always said that she had the coolest Baba and she will miss her every day.
