DONNA TOCHER (STEMKEN)

DONNA TOCHER (nee STEMKEN) After a long battle with diabetes, Donna willingly and peacefully left this world on December 29, 2005 to be with her dad Walter Stemken, who predeceased her on January 1999. Donna always enjoyed making conversation and new friends, she cultivated these relationships through her wit and playfulness. She loved her family and looked forward to visits with them despite her failing health, she loved to knit and call Bingo at her apartment block. She attended Donald School and St. Alphonsus. Donna leaves to mourn her mother, Rose Stemken, who was at her side, her daughter Vicky Gielas (Mike), brother Bruce (Nancy), aunt Helen and cousin Carole Oneschuk, uncle Larry Yakimovich and his family and many other cousins and friends. The family expresses their sincere appreciation and gratitude for the compassion, kindness and excellent care provided by the staff at Grace Hospital, as well as the dedicated home care providers. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Rev. Fr. Jerry Talarski, O.M.I. officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna's memory to the Diabetes Foundation or Corpus Christi Building Fund, Box 22, Grp 354, RR 3, Winnipeg R3C 2E7.
