WILLIAM ARTHUR MCMILLAN On December 26, 2005, W. Arthur McMillan, formerly of Oakview Place Personal Care Home, passed away at Riverview Health Centre. Art was born in Arden, MB on September 8, 1920 to David and Mary McMillan. He was predeceased by his wife Adeline in 1996 and sister Patricia Beauchamp-Latta in 2004. He is survived by his brother Alex McMillan (Doreen) of Cambridge, ON; sister Vina Main (Bruce) of Winnipeg; son Neil (Diane), grandsons, Andrew and Stuart, granddaughter Heather; son Mark (Ingrid) all of Winnipeg; and sister-in-law Joan Allison of Largo, FL; nephews, David Main (Susan), Robbie Main; niece Nancy Hooten (John) all of Winnipeg; niece Debbie Westacott (Paul) of Cambridge. Art grew up in West Kildonan, marrying the one love of his life Adeline in 1946. They had 50 happy years of marriage together raising their two sons in Silver Heights and later in Westwood. Art spent most of his career at the Canadian Pacific Railway, retiring as Assistant General Yardmaster in 1984 after 42 years. Following retirement they moved to River West Village, enjoying condo living; the occasional shopping trip to Minneapolis and time with the grandchildren. Art was a member of the Prince of Wales Chapter R.A.M. No. 11; Shrine Circus Daddy Club and a lifetime member of the Khartum Temple Drum and Bugle Corps. He always looked forward to performing in the Shrine Circus Parade until the last two years. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of Oakview Place; Grace Hospital and Riverview Health Centre for their care and concern during his recent illness. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 3 at 10:00 a.m. at the Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or a charity of your choice. Thomson Funeral Home 669 Broadway 783-7211
