JUDITH SAVARD (nee GARD) It is with heavy hearts we announce the tragic and untimely passing of our precious Judy as the result of a motor vehicle accident on December 24, 2005 near Steinbach, MB. She was 52 years old. Judy was predeceased by her mother June Gard; grandparents, Violet and John Gard; maternal grandparents (Readers); many aunts, uncles and cousins. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Andre; daughters, Tracy (Jeff, Chelsea and Logan) and Niki (Shaun); loving father Frank Gard; sister Barbara Gagnon (Jean); nieces, Beth (Dan), Valerie (Rick) and Patti; nephew David (Denise and son Seth); aunty Eileen Gard, uncle Bob Gard (Myrle), uncle Mike Gard (Lois); brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, mother-in-law Denise Savard and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom are far too numerous to mention. Judy was born on June 21, 1953, the firstborn daughter to Frank and June Gard. She grew up in Marchand, MB and attended Cedar Grove and St. Etienne schools. In the years before her marriage she worked as a secretary in the offices of Famous Players Theatres. On September 22, 1973 Judy married Andre Savard and the two went on to bring two beautiful daughters into the world. Judy's love for her family will live on in their hearts forever. To know Judy was to love her. She had a unique way of making everyone feel warm and welcome. Her positive attitude during all of life's ups and downs was truly admirable. She always had a smile, a hug and a kind word for anyone who crossed her path. Judy saw the bright side of everything and she could bring out the best in everyone. She was truly a farm girl. Andre and Judy raised their family in Marchand where her parents had built a loving and nurturing homestead. Among her many interests Judy loved her garden. She also enjoyed watching curling, horse jumping and horse racing. Her dad spent countless hours videotaping all of these events so that he could send the tapes out to the farm for Judy to enjoy. She would phone her dad nearly every day just to chat and to check in on him and the phone calls will be missed terribly. She was a music lover and had a beautiful singing voice. Her daughters will always remember her singing them to sleep during their childhood. Judy also had a wonderful sense of humour and a sharp wit. In recent years she worked at Derksen Printers and also as a home care worker. Judy always went far beyond the call of duty to provide comfort to those in need. She was an exceptionally hard worker. We can all attest to that! Judy had the most incredible love of animals. She believed that all of God's creatures were created equal and spent each waking moment living up to those beliefs. Her horses lived far beyond their life expectancy because of her love and devotion. The cats, dogs, rabbits and every other little animal will most certainly feel her absence. Judy lived her life for others. She was a gift from God and now she will be the Guardian Angel for her family, her precious animals and all of us who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter and a friend. She was many things to many people. Rest in peace dear and know that you are loved and will be remembered always. Dad says goodnight honey . Our hearts go out to Tracy who suffered tremendously in this tragic accident. We pray for your complete and speedy recovery. To Jeff... you are a kind and faithful man. Flowers gratefully declined. Donation's can be made in Judy's memory to the World Wildlife Federation, which she donated to monthly or any other charity which benefits animals. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with Rev. Rick Condo officiating. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca.
