Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY NORAH HARRIES Peacefully on 26 December, 2005 our beloved half sister and Aunt passed away at Concordia Hospital at the age of 79. Dorothy was born in Whitewood, SK on 10 November 1926, daughter of Alfred (Ted) Harries and Anna Munro. Dorothy moved to Winnipeg in the 1930's with her family, father Alfred, step-mother Marjorie and sisters Margaret and Sheila, brother Robert and half brothers Kenneth, Llewellyn, Michael and David. They lived on Municipal Road in Charleswood where her father worked as an army reservist cook at the Fort Osborne Barracks. Dorothy worked in a variety of places mainly as a food service worker up into the 1970s. Due to a disability she was forced to retire but remained very involved with her family. Dorothy never married and she will be remembered as a dignified and independent lady who was able to live alone and take care of herself. She enjoyed music and the company of her many friends in her residence. Dorothy is predeceased by her mother Anna, father Alfred, sisters Sheila and Margaret, brother Robert, step-mother Marjorie and half brother David. She remained very close to her sister Margaret up until her untimely passing in 1973. She is survived by her half brothers, Kenneth (Dell), Llewellyn (Marilyn), and Michael of Vancouver, nieces Linda, Diane and Lynn both of the Leduc/Edmonton area, and nephews Robert, David and Michael and Gordon both of Calgary, and Keith, Lloyd and James of the Leduc/Edmonton area. As with her wishes, Dorothy's remains will be cremated followed by a short private family service at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Blvd, 2:00 p.m. on January 4, 2006. The family wishes to thank all those who have visited or wrote to Dorothy during her illness. A special thank you and acknowledgement to the kind and caring staff on 3 Floor West at the Concordia Hospital. THOMSON IN THE PARK Funeral Home and Cemetery 925-1120
