MARY ELIZABETH (BETTY) COPELAND (nee RENDLE) Peacefully on December 31, 2005 with her family at her side, Betty passed away at Riverview Health Centre following a courageous battle with cancer. Betty will be greatly missed by her loving children, Ken (Darlene), Brian (Janet), Richard (Pam) and Nichola (Jeff); grandchildren, Sandy, Brooke, Katie, Michelle, Steven, Emily, Theo and Liam; brothers Harry and Ivan Rendle, as well as many other family and special friends. Betty was predeceased by her father and mother, Henry and Sarah (Armstrong) Rendle. Betty was born in Belfast, Northern. Ireland on September 28 1938 and immigrated to Canada with her young family in 1972. During her life, Betty touched many people's lives, as friend, co-worker, guide and mentor. Betty had many interests, not the least of which was traveling to spend time with all of her grandchildren. The family would like to extend its deepest gratitude to Dr. Sri Navaratnam, Lori Walker and staff at CancerCare Manitoba as well as the staff of Riverview Health Centre 3E; Dr. M. Garcia, Helen, Marlene and Barb. The love and compassion that you have shown to Betty and family during this difficult time, is immeasurable. A memorial service will be held at St. George's Anglican Church, 321 Pandora Ave., on January 4, 2006 at 7:00 pm. David Maynard officiating. A family memorial will be held in St. Catharines, ON in July. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 4A6 or the Palliative Care Unit of Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 9Z9.
