Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLILLIAN ELIZABETH ROBERTSON Peacefully on December 29, 2005, Lillian passed away at Winnipeg Lion's Manor Personal Care Centre. Lillian was born April 5, 1920 in Lilyfield, MB and grew up on the family farm. She attended Lilyfield and Stonewall schools. She attended Normal School in Winnipeg and taught at Balmoral, Ninette, Poplar Point, Tolstoi and Winnipeg. In 1942, Lillian joined the RCAF, WD and served in Mont Joli, QC and Deer Lodge Hospital where she met an Airforce Sargent by the name of Alex Robertson. Lillian and Alex were married in 1951 residing in Victoria, Guelph, Winnipeg, and Ottawa. Lillain taught at Alta Vista School in Ottawa from 1956 to 1977. In 1977, Lillian and Alex retired, and built a beautiful home on the Lilyfield family farm. Alex died in 1992, Lillian continued to reside on the farm until 1998, when she took up residence in Winnipeg Lion's Manor. Lillian had a beautiful voice, taught music, directed school and church choirs. She took a keen interest in art and was a member of the Winnipeg Art Forum. She was a member of the Shrine Ladies Auxiliary in Ottawa, member of the Manitoba Airforce Women's Auxiliary. Lillian loved to garden, belonged to the St. James Horticultural Society, and won many ribbons for her fruits, vegetables and flowers. Lillian attended the Lilyfield United Church. Lillian was predeceased by her husband in 1992 and brother-in-law William Robertson; sister-in-law Muriel Erickson (Eric). Lillian is lovingly remembered by her brother Robert (Joyce) of Lilyfield; two nephews, Paul (Ana Marie), Blake Barker; brother-in-law John Robertson (Mae); sister-in-law Dorothy Robertson; nieces, Gail Robertson, Joanne Spence (Gary), Barbara Dolski (Frank); great-nephews, Jordan and Nicholas Barker, Kristin (Megan) and Ian Wegert; great-niece Jennifer Spence. The family wishes to thank all the staff of Lion's Manor for the love and care given to Lillian especially to the nurses and care givers of second floor Personal Care Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lillian's memory may be made to Lion's Manor, 320 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, R3B 2W6 or to a charity of one's choice. A memorial service will be held at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall on Wednesday, January 4 at 2:00 p.m. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, in care of arrangements.
