MARGARET ISABELLA BUHR (nee ANDERSON) Suddenly, with family beside her, Margaret Isabella Buhr passed away at the age of 83. She is survived by her son Douglas (Linda) and her daughter Mary (Robert) and her much loved grandchildren, Shawn Buhr and Erica and Amanda Pufall, plus numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews on both sides of the family. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Walter and her brother Robert Anderson (Marion). Margaret was a woman to whom family and friends meant everything. While proud of her Anderson name and heritage, she was an equally proud member of the Buhr family who loved her dearly. Both families benefited beyond words thanks to Auntie Marg. Her courageous and daring spirit was exemplified by her meeting and marrying a young RCAF pilot in six weeks, after accepting his proposal during a three minute long distance phone call! 57 years of a loving partnership proved she knew exactly what she was doing. Shortly after the war Marg and Wally went north to the eastern Arctic and also Moose Factory, ON where Dad worked for the Hudson's Bay Company as a post manager. Seven years, numerous stories, adventures and two kids later saw them return to Winnipeg in 1956 where they soon settled in Fort Garry. Margaret was actively involved with her community including CGIT, Chown Guild, Meals on Wheels, the Fort Garry United Church, her church unit, the Wildewood Club, curling, golf and bridge. In many instances she took a leadership role that extended throughout her life, just a year ago she finished her term as president of her condo unit. Friends and travelling completed a full and rich life. Margaret's love of life, zest, sense of humour and always active and curious mind will be sadly missed by her many admirers, friends and family. A memorial service will take place at Fort Garry United Church, 800 Point Rd., on Thursday, January 5, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's Hospital Foundation CE, 840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1S1. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca.
