RICHARD LYLE TYHY It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our son, brother, and best friend, Richard Lyle Tyhy, on December 30, 2005, while visiting family in Calgary. Richard was born June 25, 1952, in Elkhorn, MB, and leaves to mourn his passing, his father Joseph Tyhy of Calgary, AB; one brother Dennis (Hennia) Tyhy of Smith Falls, ON; three sisters, Bev (Ron) Deibert of Calgary, AB, Brenda (Barry) Funk of Winnipeg, MB, Sheila (Rob) McKenzie of Calgary, AB; very good friends Lorraine Soshycki of Winnipeg, Bill Franchuk of Kenora, ON; nieces and nephews, Lori (Steven), Steven (Angie), Bradley (Mandy), Angie (Trevor), Stephanie, Charlotte, Patrick and Jeremy. Richard was predeceased by his mother Jean Tyhy on December 27, 2002; sister Linda; two brothers, Bruce and Leonard. Richard attended Lord Nelson School and graduated from Transcona Collegiate High School. He was a Signal Maintainer for CP Railway for 29 years in the Kenora and Thunder Bay region. Family would like to thank all Richard's fellow co-workers and friends for all their caring and thoughtfulness during his illness. He was a very caring and giving man, and was so full of life. He devoted himself to his family, work and friends. He will be sadly missed for his sense of humour and his ability to light up a room with his presence. A service to celebrate Richard's life will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., on Saturday, January 7, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. At Richard's request cremation has taken place and interment will be at Oak Lake Cemetery beside his mother Jean and brother, Leonard. God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change... the courage to change the things we can... and the wisdom to know the difference. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Richard's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248, Stn. Main, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
