OLGA OLIVE JENKINS (EWASKIW) On January 1, 2006, after a struggle with cancer, Olive passed away peacefully at the Grace General Hospital. Olive was born in Winnipeg on June 27, 1917 to Annie and Harry Ewaskiw, and resided in Winnipeg's North End. Most of Olive's working life was spent with the T. Eaton Co. where she enjoyed working with colleagues in the cosmetic department. She worked for such cosmetic companies as: Revlon, Coty and Max Factor prior to her retirement in 1983. Since her retirement, Olive enjoyed spending time in and around her home in the West End - it was a source of great pride for her. She was able to remain in her home until ten days before her passing. She was predeceased by her parents Annie and Harry, sister Minnie, brothers Peter and Michael and only last year at this time, brother Frank. Olive leaves to mourn her passing, daughter Pat and husband Paul Walmsley, grandchildren Diana (Clint) Mager, David (Colleen) Walmsley, great-grandchildren Sydney and Tyler Mager; as well as sister Sophie Stoyan, sister-in-law Katherine Ewaskiw, niece Dorothy Evans, and several nieces and nephews residing in other parts of Canada and the U.S. Many thanks to the 3rd floor nurses at the Grace Hospital; especially, Dana, Abby and Tracey for their kind and compassionate care for Mom. Memorial service for Olive will be at the Chapel, Misericordia Place, 44 Furby Street, on Thursday, January 5 at 12:00 noon. Flowers are gratefully declined, however if you should wish to make a donation in Olive's memory, please forward to: The Compassionate Friends, 685 William Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0Z2.
