FELICIA BATCHELOR/FACHELOUR (nee KOMODOWSKI) May 18, 1925 - January 1, 2006 After a brief illness Mom passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 57 years Earl, sons Roger Wayne (Audrey), Gary Rayne, and daughter Sandra Jane (Ernie), her beloved grandchildren Krystle, Taylor, and Hunter, brother Joe, and sister Stella as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family. Mom was predeceased by her parents Stanley and Mary Komodowski and siblings, Edward, Walter, Edgar, Brian, Stanley Jr., Lucy, Mary, Frances, and Caroline. Mom was born and raised on the family farm in Cooks Creek, MB. Her parents were Polish immigrants who had arrived in the early 1900's. She attended Zora School and would make the long trek either by foot or horseback. She always loved returning to the farm with her family. As a young woman, she moved to Winnipeg and got a job in a sewing factory. She loved sewing and made many of her own clothes throughout her life. At a dance in the old Winnipeg Auditorium, she met her future husband, Earl, a sailor in the Royal Canadian Navy. They married in 1948 and over the next five years had three children, raising them in the Fort Rouge area. In the mid 60's Mom returned to work. Her happiest employment years were spent with the Hudson's Bay Company, where she made many life-long friends. When she was 46, Mom decided it was time to learn to drive. She would often pick up her friends Lil and Hazel on the weekend and cruise the neighbourhood garage sales. She also enjoyed driving to the farm with Stella to visit Joe. Mom was very close to her brother Edward and missed her conversations with him after his death. Mom was always a very spiritual woman, developing a love for numerology and astrology. Her name changes were a constant source of confusion for everyone! She believed in guardian angels, and thought you were put on this earth for a purpose and that you should continuously seek a greater understanding of all things. With this knowledge she wrote letters to everyone whom she loved and cared for. As she grew older she found her greatest joy in her three grandchildren whether it was babysitting, baking cookies, playing at the park, or watching a soccer game. Their presence in her life, and while she was in the hospital, brought her so much happiness. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 5 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. Thank you to the wonderful, caring nurses, doctors, aides, and friend Arlene at the Victoria Hospital who made Mom's life as comfortable as possible during her final weeks. We love you Mom. We will forever hear your voice in the sound of the wind and the waves. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME CREMATORIUM 220 Hespeler @ Henderson Hwy. 668-3151
