Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRAYMOND JOSEPH NERO 1917 - 2006 Peacefully on January 1, 2006, Raymond Joseph Nero, aged 88 years, passed away at the Poseidon Care Centre where he had resided for the past few months. He leaves to mourn his wife of 55 years, Annie. He is also survived by two daughters and three sons, Margaret Smith, Gordon (Sandy) Nero, Murray (Gisele) Nero, Lynda (Rick) Mutton, James (Lesley) Nero. He also leaves 11 grandchildren, Keith, Karen, Nicholas, Jacquelyn, Leanne, Maureen, Ryan, Stacey, Andrew, Alexander and Branden. He also leaves four great-grandchildren, Carley, Brittney, Anthony and Brennan. He was predeceased by his parents, Archibald and Margaret; sisters, Mardi and Pearl; and brother Leslie in infancy; as well as son-in-law Floyd Smith (2004). Ray was born in Winnipeg on December 24, 1917. He was a veteran of the Second World War having served with the 18th Manitoba Reconnaissance Battalion. He had employment with Eaton's, Canadian Pacific Railway and later as a self employed painter. Cremation has taken place and a private family ash interment will be held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. The family would like to thank the staff at Poseidon Care Centre, St. Boniface and Victoria Hospitals for the care Ray received over the past four months. My life on earth is truly past, I've loved you all to the very last, Weep not for me, but courage take, And love one another for my sake. Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa We love you and will miss you.
