Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY AGNES BARKER (nee COPELAND) Surrounded by her family, Mary went home to be with her Lord, December 31, 2005, at the Victoria General Hospital. Mary was born on December 23, 1909, and grew up on a farm near McCreary where she went to school. She came to Winnipeg to work and here she met Harry. Mary kept a boarding house on Young Street for many years. Mary and Harry moved to the Fort Garry area, where they resided for over 30 years. Mary continued living at 2900 Pembina for 20 years where she participated in many activities. With great pleasure she moved to live with her son and family for the remaining five months of her life. She always put her family first, her graciousness and faithfulness will be remembered by everyone who knew her. Remaining to cherish her memory are her son Dennis; daughter-in-law Jo; son-in-law Roger; grandchildren, David Kathler, Robynne Martin, Jon Barker (Natasha); great-grandchildren, Alexis, Aiden and Pierce; as well as many friends and relatives. Mary was predeceased by her husband Harry; daughter Diana Kathler; son-in-law Elvin; her parents, Robert and Wilhemina Copeland; seven brothers and six sisters. The family would like to extend their thanks to the 3rd floor staff and Dr. Sharkey at the Victoria Hospital. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will he held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's memory to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1932, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R2.
