DONALD HEMSLEY WOODIWISS March 26, 1929 - December 18, 2005 Don passed away suddenly December 18, 2005 at the age of 76. He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth of 55 years; his daughter Lori Koop (Larry) and family; his son Leonard (Karen) and children of Winnipeg; his sisters, Jean Proctor (Jack) of Edmonton, AB; Maisie Johnson of Brampton, ON; brother Len (Mary) of Leamington Spa, England and their families. He has five grandchildren, Michael, Terra, Stephanie, Jordin and Braedin; and four great-grandchildren, Connor, Mikayla, Jordyn and Chloe. He was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Doris, uncle Pip, brother-in-law Bill Hammond and daughter Donna. Don grew up in the West End of Winnipeg, attending Principle Sparling and Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. He joined the 39th Field Artillery while still in school. Don was interested in almost everything. His countless hobbies kept him tirelessly busy with skills in both metal and woodworking. He had a special interest in the automotive industry which he made both a career and hobby. He began working in the engine business with International Harvester in 1948 and ended with Winnipeg Engine Rebuilding which started and ran from 1980 to 1995. Don also enjoyed his family, travelling, sports, auto racing and spending time at his cottage at Hillside Beach. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held January 10 at 2:00 p.m. at East Kildonan Baptist Church with pastors Neil Stitt and Paul Clerc. Special thanks to the Palliative Response Team and St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald St. R3L 0K6.
