WALTER SAMEC It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Walter Samec on January 4, 2006, at the age of 74 at Victoria General Hospital, with his family by his side. Walter is survived by his loving wife Mary; daughters, Denise (Rick) and Diana; his three granddaughters, Kristen, Kari and Karley; brothers, Tony (Maureen) and Victor; sisters, Olga (Phillip), Nettie (Dan) and Elizabeth; Uncle Paul, Aunt Stella, Aunt Kathy of British Columbia, Uncle Mike of California; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many cousins. Walter was born on the family farm in Hadashville, MB on May 17, 1931. He was predeceased by his parents John and Pearl; brothers, John, Jack, Nick and Leo; sisters, Mary, Ann and Violet; brothers-in-law, Jim and Nick; sisters-in-law, Marge and Frances; and nephews Royce and Jimmy. The family would like to extend our heart felt thanks to Dr. Lipson, Dr. Strachan, nurses: Jonathan, Kirsten, Angie and Elsa and all the staff in the ICU at Victoria General Hospital for their kindness, care and compassion. In accordance with Walter's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, January 10, at 10:30 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy #1 E at Navin Rd. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Andrew Wach and Rev. Deacon Leon Twerdun. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
