Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLOIS LAVINIA WELLS (nee STALKER) Lois Lavinia Wells (nee Stalker) passed away peacefully on December 31, 2005 in Calgary after a full life of 93 years. Husband Manson passed away the same day 33 years ago after 34 years together. Lois will be lovingly remembered by her family, daughter Lorna Antonation (and Walter) in Calgary; son Jim (and Randi Pollack) in Melbourne, FL; and son Bruce (and Patricia) in Delta BC; grandchildren, Lori Marcoux (and Phil Holcomb), Nicole Kinsman, Michael Wells (and Jennifer Carr), Stephen Wells and Scott Antonation; great-grandchildren, Kelsi and Cameron Kinsman who were close to her in the last years. Lois was predeceased by her dear brothers and sisters-in-law, Roland (and Grace) and Reg (and Mil). Lois was born to James Stalker and Alma Meggison in 1912 in Goodlands, MB. She grew up in Napanee, ON, an honour student who studied piano for many years. She met Manson in Ottawa where they worked in the 1930s. They married December 28, 1938 near Napanee and started their life together in Regina. Manse's career as a government accountant took them to Saskatoon then to Winnipeg where the young family grew up. Lois held dear her husband and children and created a life for them of nurturing, church and community activities, and strong connections to the extended family across the country. At the centre of her life from an early age was The Church . She had a strong faith to guide her. Crescent Fort Rouge United was her second home in Winnipeg. There she developed friendships that lasted her lifetime. All will remember her as a tireless volunteer. The family thanks the devoted staff at Fr. Lacombe Care Centre and Bowview Manor in Calgary over the last three years. A memorial service will be held in Winnipeg on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Crescent Fort Rouge United Church. Interment of Lois's ashes will be next to Manson. In lieu of flowers, a gift to the Heart and Stroke Foundation is appreciated.
